1.1. School profile

University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) founded in 1947 Cebu City, Philippines by the Order of Augustinian recollects. From classes held in an old builiding and a portion of the convent, the school built modern retaining classic features. USJ-R is a private and catholic University. USJ-R have 3 campuses. First is main campus along Corner P. Lopez and Magalllanes Sts. Second is the Basak Campus at Cebu South Road, Basak Pardo, Cebu City. Third is the newly built Balamban Campus in The Municipality of Balamban .

1.2 Academic Support System

Many libraries in this school, many laboratories ; english lab, sains lab and etc, there is mini park for sains, many bus, ambulance that’s always on standby, dental clinic, modern and clean canteen, clean CR, big indoor and oudoor field , gymnasium, strict security both open and back gate school, many washtaple in school, and etc.

1.3 Teaching system

USJ-R Junior high school department started at 7.25 am - 4.10 pm every monday-friday. Yeah, in Phillippines student study in 5 days. Every morning at 7.25-7.35 students do flag ceremony. Every day students have 7 subject to learnt. Duration of every subject is one hour. In USJ-R especially in Junior high school has 3 schedules. First schedule for normal activities is one hour, second schedule is schedule F 50 minutes per subject, and third is schedule E 40 minutes per subject. Teacher will give information if there is changes schedule for learning process for tomorrow.

1.4 Materials and other learning sources

In USJ-R, every teacher use 2 book for learning. Fisrt book is Teacher’s book and second book is Student’s book. And teacher often use video or ppt for learning.

1.5 Measurement and evaluation system
In USJ-R, evaluation system the school year is divided into 4 gradings examinations over the topics discussed within the quarter, knowledge is 10% of the students grade and process being 15%.

1.6 General Curriculum

Education of Philippine use K to 12 Curiculum and USJ-R also use K to 12 Curriculum. The K to 12 Philippine basic education curriculum framework context is (1) Philosophical and legal bases, (2)Nature of the learner, (3) needs of the learner, (4) needs of national and global community. Features of rhe K to 12 Curriculum is (1) learner-centered,inclusive and research-based (2) culture-responsive and culture-sensitive,integrative and contextualized, relevant and rensponsive, (3) standard and competence based,seamiess, decongested, (4) flexible, ICT-based and global.

The Philippine educational system : Kinder 1 year, Elementary 6 years, Secondary ; (4 years Junior HS, 2 years Senior HS) , Tertiary .

I didi my praticum in Basak campus. In Basak campus, there are Pre School, Grade School, Junior High School, Senior High School, and College. I teached in Junior High School grade 7.
